Treaty 8 Interpretative Centre
The Treaty 8 Interpretative Centre examines the history, context and impact of the signing of Treaty 8. As one of the eleven numbered treaties made between the Government of Canada and First Nations, Treaty 8 was the largest land settlement at the time of negotiation in 1899. Today, it is recognized as a living document and is considered the basis for the ongoing relationship between the Federal Crown and First Nations within Treaty 8 territory.
